General Information

BASEF Activity Day 2012 will be held this March 29th, 2012 at Mohawk’s Fennel Campus McIntyre Theatre (Main Auditorium) from 9:00 am to Noon. Classes can arrive from 8:30 am onwards with classes accepted through the first presentation from 9:00 – 9:30 am to accommodate busing restrictions. There are approximately 1039 seats and the presentations are open both to BASEF participants and classes booked  by teachers. Currently this year all the seating has been booked for classes.

BASEF Students

All students participating with a project at BASEF are guaranteed a seat at Activity Day.

Classes

Teachers may book a class by sending an email to kevin.hunt@arcelormittal.com with the following information; school, teacher representative (please include contact information – telephone and/or email), grade(s) attending, number of Students, number of volunteers, and expected arrival time.  (Note: All class seating for BASEF Activity Day 2012 has been booked.  There is a waiting list available.)

Important Information

  1. There will be no food or drink in the auditorium.
  2. Classes attending Activity Sessions must be accompanied by a teacher. This should be treated as a school trip. (There will also be room for additional volunteer help…just mention the numbers in the registration email.)
  3. Classes will not be allowed into the gym to see the BASEF projects. (Public viewing of projects will be Saturday Morning 9 am to Noon. All are encouraged and welcome to come at this time.)
  4. Busing will be the responsibility of individual schools. (Busing will use the "I" Wing Loop just off Fennell for loading and unloading.)
  5. Bus dropoff will be at the Fennell Loop prevent congestion in the college. The students will have to walk through the college (which is in session) to the theatre. BASEF will have signs and volunteers along the route between the bus dropoff and the theatre.  (There will be more details provided after registration.)
  6. The presentation will be one continuous three hour session – please plan accordingly.
